Welcome To ICLLL-2025

The Faculty of Arts, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, located in Thirunelvely, Jaffna, has organized the First International Conference on Language, Literature and Linguistics -2025 (ICLLL-2025) under the theme “Plurality in Language and Literature ” to be held on 27th and 28th June 2025. This Conference invites papers in the disciplines of Linguistics and Literary Studies with a specific focus on the question plurality. The Conference encourages scholarly inquiries into the ways in which literature and language shape discourses of plurality, diversity and inclusion along lines of ethnicity, caste, class, religion and gender. It also urges scholars in the two disciplines to reflect upon the ways in which plurality functions (or can function) as useful lens or theoretical framework to understand the historical nature of language and literary creativity. Laying special emphasis on the plurality observed within the Tamil language historically, this Conference seeks to initiate scholarly conversations on the ways in which Tamilness emerged as a pluralist linguistic expression or lived experience in different historical moments in South Asia and beyond. The 1st ICLLL-2025 organizing committee is pleased to invite researchers worldwide to submit their research findings for presentation at the Conference.
